Wendel Rosen, Black & Dean LLP was founded in 1909 in Oakland. Serving clients nationwide in transactional and litigation matters, Wendel Rosen is one of the oldest and largest law firms in the East Bay. AAI recently remodeled two floors of the firm’s headquarters on Broadway Street in downtown Oakland – 48,000 square feet in total. The tone of the space is light and welcoming, a true reflection of Wendel Rosen’s core mission of encouraging a strong sense of community and delivering personalized client service. In the remodel, the top floor reception space was re-envisioned as a friendly gathering area. This includes a long “oasis bar” where coffee and food can be served, encouraging interaction and conversation. Behind the bar is a contemporary tiled wall. A floating soffit ceiling connects this wall to the adjacent warm wood wall behind the reception desk, unifying the entire reception area. The adjoining conference room’s full height glass walls showcase East Bay vistas. The Wendel Rosen remodel also included the elevator lobbies, large conference rooms, and the administrative areas on both floors. A sleek new break room emulates a modern café, using light grey tones in a bar-height table with stools, stained wood floor and tiled backsplash walls.
